We have now hit the longest government shutdown on record. 36 days.

This comes as the Trump administration faces off against the Supreme Court over his tariffs and yet the market has barely flinched.

Adding to that, there was some panic last night as South Korea’s market and crypto sold off, but in reality neither has much bearing on U.S. equities. Crypto weakness has been ongoing for months without any meaningful effect on stocks.

Before getting into this post where I plan to discuss a range of topics including the government shutdown, tariffs, crypto, and a new position I opened today, I want to take a moment to highlight that I’ve now published four educational pieces. Each one focuses on a different aspect of trading and investing. So far I’ve covered:

  1. Position Sizing

  2. Long Term Investing

  3. Stage Analysis and Base Breakouts

  4. Spotting Major Market Tops

My plan is to release one of these each week. I have a long list of topics lined up including how and when to sell out of a position, buying within a base before a breakout, identifying ideal entries during uptrends, and using moving averages to your advantage among others. If there’s something specific you’d like me to cover, feel free to share your ideas in the comments.
