The Calm Before The Storm

This has been one of the quietest news weeks we’ve had in some time.

For the first time in a few weeks we’ve seen steady buying and low volatility. The VIX (Volatility Index) is down nearly 30% over the last few trading days. Just in time for APEC (the Trump-Xi meeting) and FOMC next week…

Before we get into this post, I just want to highlight that through the first few weeks of this Substack, I’ve done two “educational” pieces on both position sizing here and long term investing here. I plan on doing a number of these over the coming weeks and months with topics ranging from:
