The Start of Something New
An introduction to what this Substack is, why I started it, and what to expect moving forward.
Welcome!
I’m glad you’re here and I’m excited about this next chapter in my trading and investing career. My plan for this Substack is to post four or more times per week where I dive deeper into the market, trading and investment opportunities, individual names, charts, trade ideas, themes, focus lists, and everything else you’ve watched me post about on X for the last few years. I’ve always had a deep passion for writing and Substack felt like the perfect outlet.
Why am I doing this?
I want to do more. X is great for what it is whether it’s quick thoughts, charts, real time reactions, etc. but it’s not great for depth. There’s only so much context and reasoning I can fit into a post on X before it starts to feel like a drag for readers. I know some people don’t like long form posts and that’s okay, that’s why I’m starting here on Substack. This is a space where I can slow down and provide my full thought process and analysis without feeling like I’m overloading X. Substack gives me the freedom to write, analyze, and connect on a deeper level which is what I’m really passionate about. My full stream of market consciousness.
A bit about me as a trader and investor:
I am not just a swing trader but an investor as well. I have multiple accounts including a primary trading account, a long term investing account where I hold individual growth names, and a crypto portfolio where I buy and hold Bitcoin and Ethereum. I trade exclusively using shares, no options, but I definitely do use margin/leverage. Profits from trading go toward growing my trading balance and funding my investment account when I see an opportunity.
My trading process:
I’m a swing trader who uses a combination of technical and fundamental analysis, narrative, market dynamics, and thematics to identify opportunity. I believe that the best opportunities not only have a great technical setup, but a strong fundamental, thematic, or narrative behind it that gives it extra juice. The more the better, in my view a pretty chart can only take a stock so far before exhaustion sets in. There needs to be more for the market to get excited about. My timeframe for trades? Sometimes I stay in a trade for a few days, sometimes weeks or months. It all depends on the story, the setup, and how the trade develops.
My investing process:
I want to own stocks in sectors of society that I believe have major structural tailwinds led by driven management teams I trust and respect. I look for companies building something meaningful, useful, or exciting. I favor businesses positioned at the intersection of innovation and necessity such as Uber, Meta, and Tesla, where adoption is very clearly already underway but the runway for growth still remains significant. I also like taking shots on more speculative assets as I did with Palantir and Coinbase early on. I limit my long term growth portfolio to under ten names and will be posting a full portfolio review here soon, along with updates and reviews over time.
Schedule:
I plan to use Sundays for a weekly review and preview of the week ahead, with additional posts throughout the week covering major market events, news, earnings, and other developments worth discussing. While the specific days may vary depending on how things unfold, I’ll consistently publish at least four posts per week, with additional posts depending on what’s happening in the market. Maybe I’ll switch to a more post cadence if that’s what people want. Let me know.
Thank you:
I’m looking forward to this new endeavor and I’m committed to building something you all find valuable, consistent, and worth your time each week. My goal is to make this a space that not only provides insight into how I trade and invest but also helps you with a perspective on how to digest the market, narratives, themes, and opportunity. Whether you’ve followed me on X for years or are just finding me here, I appreciate and thank you being part of this next chapter.
I will be back with a post tomorrow.
